This was for more complicated than this excerpt shows, it was the translation and editing of the first work of fiction in Korean literature- but one of the tasks was to "translate" edited poetry (already translated from Chinese to Korean) into rhyming verse in English.
(last mile home)

Alone next to a window screen, the needling hand slows

Because the songs of nightingale midst of blooms are fair.

Silently blaming the Spring breeze,

I rest the needling hand in the thought of my love.

Who is the learned man walking on the road?

The blue collar and wide belt allures through the willow

How do I become a swallow in the house

And fly low to flit the beads and over the walls?

Alone next to a window screen, the needling hand holds in air

At the songs the nightingales sing amidst the blooms so fair

Though I silently blame the gentle Spring breeze
The thought of my love causes hands to cease

Who is the learned man walking on the road?

Blue collar and wide belt peeking through the willow

How do I become a swallow within a houseÕs halls
Flying low to tickle bead-screens, swooping over walls?
